

Tence L. Williams, 74, of Normal, IL, formerly of Swayzee, IN and Fairbury, IL passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at his residence.
Tence was born April 24, 1937 in Marion, IN to Clyde and Cecil Loer Williams. He married his one and only love, Sue McDaniel August 9, 1956; they recently celebrated 55 years of marriage, Sue survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Jeff (Martha) Williams of Lexington, Greg (Ann) Williams of Fairbury, Scot (fiancé Vikki) Williams and Mark (Stephanie) Williams, both of Normal; one daughter, Shari (Mark) Taylor of Fairbury; 15 grandchildren, Rene (John) Thomas, Marc Perez, Nicki Williams, Angela (Joe) Brewer, Jared (Illyana) Williams; Jason, Amy and Callie Williams; Shane and Jake Williams; Paige and Addison Williams; and Evan, Ross and Will Taylor, as well as five great-grandchildren; one brother, Malc (Shirley) Williams; three sisters Juanita Comer, Donna Scott and Susie Gavin all of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Upon moving to Illinois, Tence worked as a credit manager at Honegger’s & Co., Inc. in Fairbury for fifteen years. For the last thirty years, he owned and operated his own business, T.L. Williams Construction, in Normal. Tence was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bird watching, nature and gardening with his wife and was a history buff. Tence cherished his family and attended many of his grandchildren’s events and activities; he also enjoyed a close relationship with Sue’s sisters, Donna and Ann, and their families. Tenny will be deeply missed and always remembered for his strength, integrity, loyalty and love for his family.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Open House on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 1 pm-6pm at Tence and Sue’s home in Normal. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairbury United Methodist Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
