Winnifred "Winnie" M. Nice

Winnifred M. “Winnie” Nice, 100, of Towanda, passed away in Normal on March 1, 2020. She was born October 29, 1919, to Lewis and Lillian Peterson Michael in Towanda. On August 2, 1945, she married Richard E. Nice.

She is survived by her sons Richard L. Nice and William (Connie) Nice; daughters Mary Lou (Lynn) Hutson and Linda Jones; grandchildren Thomas Travers, Brett Jones, Donica (Bruce) Austin, Todd (Nicola) Nice, Tate Nice, and Travis (Janine) Nice; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law George Jones, grandson Chad Jones, two brothers, and four sisters.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 5, at 10:30 AM at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Towanda American Legion or to the Towanda Fire Department.
