Audrey Jean McGuire

Audrey Jean(Kelley)McGuire, 88 of Bloomington, passed away at home surrounded by her daughters, on Saturday, November 7, 2015. She was the daughter of George Robert Kelley and Gladys Ora(Cooper)Kelley of Solsberry, Indiana. She was married to Raymond “Hank” McGuire of Spencer, Indiana She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Audrey Jean graduated from Solsberry High School at the age of 16. She was employed at Crane Naval Base before becoming a full-time homemaker and mother. She was an avid reader and encouraged her daughters to pursue their education. Audrey Jean started working at Indiana University in 1973. She retired from the Indiana University Press some twenty years later.

Survivors include four daughters: Patricia Lynn Howey of Damascus, Maryland; Diana Jean McGuire Reynolds and Barbara Sue Underwood both of Bloomington, Indiana and Joy LeAnn Harding and her husband Jeff of Newburgh, Indiana. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one sister; Joyce Sparks of Solsberry, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
