

Blanche Evelyn Nicholson, age 90, of Bloomington died Friday evening at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born August 29, 1925 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of George Wesley and Rose (Mullis) Cooper. She was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church and the Bloomington V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved sewing, gardening and yard work and dining out.
She is survived by her two sons, Stephen L. (Nancy) Nicholson, of Ellettsville and Brian D. (Kim) Nicholson, of Bloomington; one daughter, Linda (David) Hyde, of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Mike Smith, Kim Wampler, Cynthia “Cindy” Smith, Dale Nicholson, Lori Williams, Celena M. Borders, Ron Hyde and Brian Hyde; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Owens, Lane Borders, Wyatt Borders, Jacob Williams, Tad Nicholson, Kayla Hyde and Madison Wampler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Nicholson, two grandsons, David and Christopher Smith, one great-grandson, Caleb Altop; five sisters, Marie McKinney, Francis Sipes, Dora Honeycutt, Lora Deckard and Betty VanDyke and two brothers, Dale Cooper and Wesley Cooper.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell
Chapel ; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Rev. Ray New officiating.
Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Crossroads United Methodist Church.
