Donald Eugene Baker

Donald Eugene Baker, age 78, of Freedom, Indiana died Thursday evening (04/05/2018) at his residence. Born October 2, 1939 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Henry and Emma Marie (Shuping) Baker. Donald worked in building maintenance for several different companies through his life and retired from Hunter-Douglas in Colorado. He loved hunting and fishing and was a proud member of the Tennessee Squires and the Texas State Rifle Association, where he had a life-time membership. He served our country in both the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force. Donald is survived by his three sons, Scott (Marsha) Baker, of Freedom, Indiana and Donald R. (Toni) Baker and Chris Baker, both of Indianapolis, his daughter, Dawn R. (Larry) Marr, of Tucson, Arizona, one sister, Sandy French, of Plainfield, Indiana, one nephew, Todd French, of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Kim, Joey, Josh, Heather, Mandy and Samantha and twelve great-grandchildren, Miranda, Austin, Timothy, Izzabella, Caleb, Madison, Amanda, Alexis, Sylvia, Ashlyn, Taylor and Valyn. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Crystal Bowen and his brother, Allen Baker. A private family service will be held at the American Legion Post # 141 in Coal City, Indiana.
