Donnetta Deckard

Donnetta Faye Deckard, 76, of Sanders died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Garden Villa Health Care Center. She was born February 16, 1942 in Monroe County to Harley Deckard and Gayle East Deckard. She was retired from Bloomington Hospital. Survivors include her two sons, Fred May, Jr. and his wife Misty of Spencer and Jeff May of Bloomington; a sister, Patsy Scott of Unionville; a brother, Clyde (wife Sherry) Deckard of Unionville; five grandchildren, Jocelyn (husband Nick) Thacker, Jacob May, Tyler (wife Bobbi) May, Shelby May and Mason May; six great grandchildren, Ashlin Thacker, Lucas Thacker, Lexi Thacker, Tyler May, Joseph May and Kristofer May; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred A. May; a son, Gary May; two children who died in infancy, Rickey and Roberta; a sister, Mona Sego; a brother, Jerry Deckard; two grandchildren, Katelyn May and Jaydan May; and a brother in law, Kenny Scott. Donnetta was a member of the Old Chapel Hill Church, outside of church, her life revolved around work and her grandchildren. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W. Gourley Pike. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Pat Knowles Officiating, burial will follow in Mt. Ebal Cemetery.
