John Marshall Owens Sr.

.John Marshall Owens Sr., age 86, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. John was born on March 10, 1926 to the late Audie and Maude Owens in Hammond, Indiana. He married Maxine Staggs Owens in September of 1950. John was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing as well as telling great stories from his past. John will be missed by many. He served his country in the United States Navy in World War II in the South Pacific.

John is survived by his Son; John M. Owens Jr., and his Daughters; Sharon (David) Hayden and Carol (Robert) Hermann, and Two Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Staggs Owens, in 1991; and by his parents, and Brother, Paul Owens.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Deremiah Frye Mortuary in Bloomington, Indiana. Friends may call on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00p.m, and on Monday from 10:00- 12:00pm, prior to the services.
