

Lana Lee VanLeeuwen, 67, of Bloomington, IN passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Richland Bean Blossom Healthcare. She was born February 17, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan the daughter of the late John and Betty Vermeulen.
Lana graduated from Bloomington High School in 1966. In 1968 she moved to Miami, Florida where she met the love of her life Adrian VanLeeuwen, who she married August 22, 1970. In 1972 she moved back to Bloomington, Indiana to start a family. She retired from Indiana Bell after 30 years and also retired from United Airlines. She was the owner and operator of The Card Cupboard in Ellettsville, IN.
Lana enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, and her true passion was taking care of others and devoting her time to volunteering at her grandkids schools. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Lana is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Adrian; her three sons, Derk, Hans, and Garth VanLeeuwen; eight grandchildren, Justin, Allison, Austin, Gabriel, Madison, Derk Jr., Adrianna, and Hanna; and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Betty Phillips Vermeulen; sister, Lori Leland; and two brothers, John Vermeulen, Jr. and Lonnie Vermeulen.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2449 N. Hartstraight Road in Bloomington, IN 47404. Inurnment will be private with the family.
