

Maude Marie Dunbar, age 97, of Bloomington, was born on March 10, 1915 in Monroe County, the daughter of Justice and Pearl (Skirvin) Craig. Maude worked for many years as a cook at Fairview School with her sister, Elsie Bruce. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church for over fifty years and was active in the JOY circle.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Dunbar and daughter-in-law, Carol, of Seymour, Tennessee, Michael Dunbar and daughter-in-law, Martha, of Bloomington, daughter Sue Ann Davis and son-in-law, Keith, of Georgetown, Texas, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Fisher, of Bloomington, Joy Watson, of Peachtree City, Georgia and Joann Moore, of Fargo, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Dunbar in 1980, a brother, Elmer Craig and two sisters, Elsie Bruce and Justine Harrell.
Throughout the past years Mother wasn’t able to do the things that were so important to her. She always loved to visit with family and friends, she so enjoyed attending church and circle, cooking and baking, taking rides with no destination in mind, and walking. She knew and walked every street and alley on the west side of Bloomington. She was also an avid IU Basketball fan.
Mother/Grams/Grandmother/Maude, you will truly be missed but thank you for so many wonderful memories.
Special thanks to her nieces, Donna Newman, Connie Ramsey and Julie Bruce for all the time they spent with her at Bell Trace and at her home. Also, many thanks for the care and attention she received during her years at Bell Trace.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with Rev. Rebecca Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
