William "Bill" A. Shields

Bill was a member of the Modern Woodman of America. He was a Navy Korean Veteran. He was a member of VFW Post 604 in Bloomington. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, being outdoors. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Bill is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Rick) Deckard; her brother, Donald Shields; and many other beloved family members.

In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Omia Avonell “Nell” Shields; daughter, Anita Rae Shields; and sister-in-law, Donetta Shields.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery where the Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel.
