

William Lee Greene, age 58, of Bloomington, died Monday morning on the campus of Indiana University. Born December 6, 1953 in Bloomington, he was the son of Harry and Helen Wanda (Terrell) Greene. He was a member of Bloomington High School South, class of 1973, and was a union carpenter with Carpenters Local Union #1664 in Bloomington. He primarily worked for I.S.I., currently working on the campus of Indiana University. He loved being around people and was very outgoing. He was an owner of sprint cars traveling the circuit between Paragon, Putnamville and Bloomington speedways with his son, Jeremy behind the wheel. He also loved tinkering with automobiles. He was a member of the Miller Drive Church of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Monique Giles, of Bloomington; one sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Barry Miller, of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Jonathan Garrison, whom he raised, Gregory Garrison, Bradley Clark, Haley Clark, Kelly Bolin, Jessica Bolin, Brian Bolin, Kelley Wellman, Hanna Wellman, Shanna Swaby, Justin Garrison, Michael Garrison, Crystal Garrison, Kasey Riggs, Jarret Swaby and Lynia Garrison and one great-grandson, Connor Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Greene in 2004.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with Pastor Mickey Smith and Jonathan Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
