It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bruce Charles Kendall Sr. 81, on January 11, 2025, surrounded by his family after a courageous and lengthy battle with heart disease. Mr. Kendall was the husband of Elizabeth/Betsy M. Kendall and was born in New Haven on January 10, 1944, son of the late Albert Kendall and Nora Caldwell Kendall. Mr. Kendall is survived by his wife of 58 years and his son Brian J. and Colleen/Casey (Pollard) Kendall of Coral Springs, FL. Also survived by five grandchildren, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Caroline, Connor and Brendan whom he adored immensely. Also survived by one sister Barbara DiGiusto (Felix) of East Haven, CT, and one brother Edward Kendall (Diane) of East Haven, CT. Mr. Kendall was predeceased by his son, Bruce C. Jr. and Nicole (D’Amelio) Kendall of Waterbury, CT.
Mr. Kendall attended Eli Whitney Technical School, graduating in 1962. Bruce then began his career in building construction as an apprentice and member of The Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 777. In addition to working throughout the State of Connecticut, Bruce also worked in Pennsylvania, Canada and West Virginia. He retired after 34 years.
Bruce was a member and served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Carmel Council (Hamden, CT). After relocating to Boca Raton, FL, Bruce continued an active role at the Boca Raton Knights of Columbus, St. Johns Council. Bruce was an avid bowler and golfer, and volunteered at Baptist Health, Boca Helping Hands and various ministries at St. John’s Catholic Church. Bruce loved traveling to Europe, enjoyed cruising and vacationing in various US states.
Bruce cherished the time he spent with his five grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Delray Medical Center for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
Visitation for Bruce will be held on January 23, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm at the Mission Bay Plaza Babione Funeral Home in Boca Raton. On January 24, 2025 at 10:00 am, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church (10300 Yamato Rd. Boca Raton, FL). A Graveside Ceremony will take place at a later date in Hamden, CT. After his Funeral Mass the Kendall family would like to invite all to Brian and Casey’s house.
