Chester T. Niemiec, 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Born February 19, 1920 in Old Forge, PA. Chester joined the U. S. Army, proudly serving in World War II, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Following retirement in 1987, he moved from North Arlington, NJ to Coral Springs, FL and most recently to Wellington. Chester enjoyed participating in a bowling league while in New Jersey and was an enthusiastic Florida Marlins fan.Chester is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rose V. Niemiec; cherished daughter Lucy Lanning (husband, Bill); sister Loretta Rook; sister-in-law Lucila Garzon; brother-in-law Carlos Garzon; and many devoted nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday at Babione Funeral Home (west chapel), Boca Raton.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churchwith Military Funeral Honors to follow at South Florida National Cemetery.
