On April 3, 2013 our father, brother and friend Jack Shine, of Boca Raton, passed away. Jack was born on October 7th, 1932 in Queens, NY and was a Naval Veteran, a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and NYU, where he was awarded his bachelor and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering. He then went on to a highly successful 35 year career with Bell Labs as an engineer and telecom executive. Jack is survived by his eight children; John Shine Jr, Joyce Shine-Mattis (John Mattis), Judy Shine (Gary Garrison), Kenneth Shine, James Shine, Lori Shine, Jacqueline Shine (John Dwyer), Jennifer Shine Hayward (Todd Hayward) and 19 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother William Shine, his sister-in-law Elaine Shine and his sister Patricia Roecklein. Viewing will be held Monday April 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Babione Funeral Home at 1100 N. Federal Hwy in Boca Raton. Services will be held on Tuesday April 9th at the same location at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a donation be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation for veterans at garysinisefoundation.org.
