She had the dangerous task of supplying fuel and ammunition to ships in and near the combat area, from 1951 to 1954.
Upon returning to Stamford, he met and married the Love of his life, Joy Boccagna July 31, 1957, and together they raised their family in Stamford, where he worked as a hairdresser and eventually owned his own beauty salon, called Riverside Coiffeurs, with his dear and longtime friend David Chiapetta. In 1977 Joseph and Joy moved to Highland Beach, then Boca Raton, Florida to permanently escape the cold New England weather for year-round Florida sunshine. Joseph opened another beauty salon in Boca Raton where he worked as a hairdresser until he retired.
Joseph enjoyed time outdoors, fishing, golfing, and kept busy with DIY projects around the house. He loved music, enjoyed listening to his wife play the piano, and cooking Italian food.
Joseph was in hospice services with Trustbridge from September 2024 until his passing. His family would like to extend sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the care, attention, and comfort that the Trustbridge staff provided to Joseph and his family during that time.
