Kevin Ernest Shaw MD

Nov. 4, 1954 – Jan. 16, 2011

It is with overwhelming sadness that Kevin’s family announces his sudden death. He

is survived by his beloved wife Jymme and treasured children Ian & Mallory; his parents

Ernie & Rosa; sisters Diane & Gina (Dan) Moore; brother John (Sandra); nephew

Thomas & niece Maria Moore; all of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Kevin was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan & grew up in Edmonton & Calgary, Alberta

and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Dr. Shaw graduated M.D. with Distinction from the U of Alberta, Edmonton in 1978;

completed general & plastic surgery residencies at U of British Columbia in Vancouver,

Canada in 1984. He became Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery &

the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1985. He then completed two fellowships –

craniofacial at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN and cosmetic at the Mount Sinai

Medical Center in Miami – in 1987. Kevin was the Head of the Section of Plastic Surgery

Mayo Clinic Jacksonville 1987-1993. He then conducted private practice at his Clinic for

Plastic Surgery in Boca Raton FL 1993-2010, and served as Chief of Surgery for Boca

Raton Community Hospital 1997-1999. He has presented or published 93 scientific

papers & chapters nationally & internationally. He was affiliated with 15 medical

associations.

Kevin was a skilled Little League baseballer, recreational skier, hockey player & scuba

diver. He was pre-deceased by his four grandparents and a baby sister.

Kevin loved all his patients and had zero litigations against him.

A visitation to celebrate Kevin’s life will be Sunday 4-8pm at Babione Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL. A Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday 9:30 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 South Federal Highway,Deerfield Beach, FL. www.babionesouthflorida.com
