Louise Frances Costantini, née Gradt, age 65, gracefully passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by her husband of 42 years, Robert, and her daughters, Marie and Emily, after courageously facing a second battle with cancer. Besides her husband and loving and devoted daughters, she leaves behind two loved sons-in-law, Craig (Marie) and Seth (Emily), and four beautiful grandchildren, Olivia, Camdyn, Sebastian, and Henry, whom she loved so deeply that she became a dominant presence in their young lives. Louise was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Ellen. She lived a life deeply devoted to her family and those she loved, learned from her formative bond with her beloved ‘Nena’ Margaret.
She also leaves behind many family and friends that she held close and loved deeply, including her beloved sister, Debbie (Randy), and brother, Jimmy (Maryanne), and her father-in-law, Adelmo, brother-in-law Michael (Lynne), sisters-in-law Leanna (David) and Jeanne (Richard), and numerous beautiful cousins, nieces, nephews, their spouses, and great-nieces and nephews. Among her most cherished friends were Carol (Dave), friends from Westport and Long Island, and a sisterhood comprised of the wives of family friends for over 40 years, along with their spouses. Her legacy lives on in the strength, joy, and generosity she shared with all who knew her.
Louise was known for her sharp mind, quick wit, immense common sense, and natural ability ensuring that everyone knew where they stood. This authenticity allowed her to shine in everything she pursued.
She earned a bachelor’s degree at Iona College, laying the foundation for a lifetime of accomplishment and resilience, whether in retailing, on Wall Street, or as a devoted mother and homemaker – her ultimate achievement.
Louise and Robert married in 1984, beginning a life of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment that helped conquer an early bout of breast cancer. As a 27-year cancer survivor, Louise emerged from her first battle in her 30s with a zest for life that was simply unmatched. She embraced each day with energy, joy, and a deep appreciation for the present. They lived in Connecticut for over 33 years. Louise loved to dance, excelled at sports and was an avid tennis, golf and Mahjong player. Louise and Robert were active members of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Weston, CT, and later Assumption Church in Westport, CT, making lifelong friends before moving to Boca Raton, FL, in 2018.
We’re comforted knowing her battle is over; she fought fiercely and is now at peace, embraced by the light of God’s eternal love. Her spirit remains with us – steady, strong, and always near.
