Margaret "Marge" Ann Fitzgerald

Margaret "Marge" Ann Fitzgerald of Deerfield Beach, FL died after a prolonged illness in Delray Beach, FL on September 29, 2025. Born in Dunmore, Co. Galway, Ireland on April 5, 1945 to Thomas and MaryKate (Nestor) Gannon, Margaret immigrated to the United States in 1961 where she lived and worked in New York for just over 40 years. She married her former spouse, Oliver Rooney (d. 1988) of Scotstown, Co. Monaghan and their daughter Maura was born in 1967.

Margaret married the late Thomas Fitzgerald of Limerick, Ireland in 2002 and moved to Florida where she and Tommy enjoyed life in the sunshine near Maura, Don and their family. They enjoyed their time in Century Village as well as their many travels to see the Fitzgeralds until Tommy passed away in 2010. Tommy's sons, Tommy and John, were like sons to Margaret and she spent many happy days vacationing with John and his family.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her spouses, her brothers Anthony and Michael and her sisters Kathleen and Mary. She is survived by her loving daughter, Maura, her son-in-law Donald (Don) Buza, her grandchildren Adam Buza (Laura), Marina Buza (Preston Johnson), Andrea Buza (partner Patrick Ryan), the person who could always bring a smile to his Mammie's face, Donovan Buza Johnson and many members of the Gannon, Rooney, Fitzgerald and Buza families. She will also be missed by her friends and neighbors in Century Village.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432 on October 8, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Reception will follow on the same day from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S. military Trail, Delray Beach, FL. Funeral Mass can be will be live-streamed on the Emmanuel Catholic Church (Delray Beach, FL) website via Facebook. Internment at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411.
