Mary Elizabeth Bloise passed away at the age of 77 surrounded by family on October 20,2024. She is predeceased by her husband James, her parents Mariana & Joseph Bova, and her son-in-law Christopher Borgo. She is survived by her daughter Michele Borgo.
Mary was born in Brooklyn where she continued to live until she moved to Florida in 2001 to be closer to her daughter. She met her husband Jim and the two were married in 1973. A few years later they welcomed their daughter, Michele.
She worked the luncheonette counter at Woolworths in Manhattan until they closed in 1997. It was at this counter that she met her best friend Maureen who would later become her maid of honor. She continued in retail until her retirement. In 1989 she opened Comfort Tone & Tanning, with her cousin Joseph Agostino.
Mary loved the sun and would get outside as much as she could, especially to walk her best friend Karsen. You could always find her out on the porch or by the pool reading a good book (especially the JD Robb books she shared with her goddaughter, Christine) and was a friend of her local library. She loved to cook and had quite a few famous recipes like her Mac-N-Cheese, pork chops, stuffing, and “Aunt Mae’s” cookies.
She was a friend to all, always happy and laughing with a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
