Mary Margaret McCaffrey
15 julio , 1953 – 8 octubre , 2019
Mary Margaret McCaffrey, 66, formerly of Massena, New York passed away on October 8, 2019 after a battle with cancer. She is the youngest of four daughters of Clyde and Ruth Lacomb. Mary is survived by her loving husband Gary McCaffrey also formerly of Massena,NY., son Shaun, daughter-in-law Erica, and twin grandchildren Cayden and Emma, sisters Sheila (William) Ayotte of Massena, Linda Haldeman of Indianapolis, IN., and Barbara (Douglas) Caruso of Oswego, NY. After graduating from Maria Regina College in Syracuse, NY, Mary and Gary moved to Florida where she became a valued employee in the data security field at Thompson Reuter’s and most recently at Transunion. Because of her larger than life personality, Mary accumulated many close friends at both her workplaces as well as the neighborhoods wherever she lived. Mary had many hobbies and interests but none greater than her grandchildren in which she took great pride and joy. The McCaffrey family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to West Boca Regional Center and the Hospice of the Sea facilities and employees for their exceptional care and empathy during Mary’s illness.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Mary's passing and am praying for her and for her family as they grieve. I have missed Mary greatly in the years since working with her and have thought of her often (especially on the birthday of the twins - I enjoyed hearing her speak of them). While her passing is sad for those left behind, I'm glad she is at peace. The souls of the righteous are in the hands of God.

Gary: still so shocked and saddened as I know all of you must be. I so enjoyed my nights with you and Mary and always loved her energy and stamina. Mary was non stop about her family and those visits with the grandkids. I am sending all my love to you and the family. Mary’s “firelight” will never dim and her “sun and moon” will forever shine.

Mary was a unique and caring person - someone I will truly miss. Even though I never met any of her NY family, Mary called me "Sis" every time I saw her. I worked with Mary in the data security industry for several years. She was one that spoke her mind and was respected by many. My condolences to her NY family. My condolences to Gary, Shaun, Erica and her precious grandchildren. I remember when she told my about their birth and how proud she was to have two kids at once to spoil! She often shared pictures, with a beaming smile on her face, saying how she was going to see them soon so she had to go shopping because that's what grandma's do!
The world is a lesser place without her. We that remain will keep her memory in our hearts knowing that her suffering is gone and she is in her final resting place. Love you my friend!

To Mary's beloved family - I'm truly heartbroken for your loss, Mary was one of my most favorite people on the earth. She would always light up a room with her contagious laugh and her hugs were like you were blanketed in warmth and protection.- you were safe. She was the pick up in a tough day , always remindining us what was truly important, family. She loved so fiercly- I'm blessed and gratful to have been in her presence for so long. Warrior on up there Mary- we love you so much. Love, prayers and support. -Heather

Dear McCaffrey Family,
My name is Chase Blake, I have worked indirectly on the sales team with Mary for roughly 3 years since she started with us at TransUnion.
I want to start this message off to you with a thank you. This thank you is for allowing me to have shared time and memories with your wife, mother, sister, grandmother and or friend. There has not been a day while working here since Mary started that we did not interact with either a hello or short conversation. Even if the conversation had no substance to it, Mary gave her opinions and takes on the positivity of life and family.
I am 33 years old and as Mary would call me a child in some cases I guess I can be considered that to my older colleagues. Her wisdom and advice was always appreciated throughout the few years we have known each other. Recently in the last 2 years I had lost my older brother, 2 grandmothers and uncle to cancer. Mary knew of this and while outside she had seen me breakdown in emotion over the loss of my family members, mainly my brother. She did not hesitate to let me know she was there for me with a hug, or to talk as and there to listen. I took advantage of her listening skills multiple times. Mary has helped me get through very dark times and I will be forever grateful for this.
Along with the rest of our TU team I am extremely saddened by the loss of Mary. I consider our co-workers a branch of a family as we have grown together. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this period and I hope that by honoring our memories of Mary we will keep her alive with us in our own ways.
Thank you again for allowing Mary to be a part of my professional life, she has certainly made a positive impact and will be forever remembered and missed.
With great sorry and utter appreciation for her time with us,
