Born on September 16, 1957, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Nena lived a life filled with compassion, warmth, and quiet strength. In her early years, she worked as a teacher abroad, devoted to helping children learn English and broaden their horizons. She later transitioned into roles in administration and sales, where her intelligence, charisma, and work ethic shone brightly.
Nena had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys—she loved the beach, good music, and never missed an opportunity to dance. Her passion for art reflected her creative spirit and her ability to see beauty in the world around her. She also had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor, always ready with a funny story, clever remark, or playful laugh that lit up the room. Her laughter was infectious and her jokes brought joy to those lucky enough to know her.
Above all, Nena will be remembered for her kind heart. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met, always offering prayers and love for those around her. Her legacy lives on through her children, Luis Carlos Lopez and Astrid Lopez-Michelen, and her cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Katelyn, Emma, Everly, and Olivia.
She will be deeply missed, joyfully remembered, and forever loved.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
