Peter Bruno, age 81, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away suddenly but peacefully on July 8th, with his beloved wife of 57 years, Ellen Bruno, by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and lifelong service to others.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Bruno; his devoted daughter, Dr. Ellen Ramsey; his cherished granddaughter, Megan Ramsey Menetrier, and her husband, Enzo Menetrier. He is also survived by his older brother, Dr. Anthony Bruno, and many beloved cousins.
Peter’s career in the securities industry spanned more than 55 years. He began at Loeb Rhoades & Co., where he rose to the position of Training Director. Around 1971, Peter began working with returning Vietnam veterans, designing and teaching a course on the background and operations of the securities industry to help them transition into civilian life. The program provided them with the skills and eligibility to work at brokerage firms nationwide. For his devotion to disabled veterans, Peter was honored with several awards which was a recognition that meant a great deal to him throughout his life.
In 1972, he founded a national securities licensing seminar company, and over the course of his career, trained thousands to become licensed stockbrokers. His entrepreneurial vision led to the creation of the Institute of Wall Street Studies, a platform that empowered everyday investors with practical knowledge and tools for financial independence. He eventually worked his way up to owning his own brokerage firm, a testament to his tenacity, integrity, and belief in educating others through service.
In the late 1980s, Peter became a well-known voice across South Florida as host of the popular radio show “Managing Your Money,” which he continued for over a decade. Broadcasting from the Florida Keys to the Treasure Coast, the show reached hundreds of thousands of listeners. Callers regularly sought his insight and guidance, especially his proprietary cycle analysis of the markets, a signature of his strategic and personalized approach.
Peter often described himself as an “idea man.” That description held true in both business and spiritual circles. Whether designing financial tools or creating ministry resources, his mind was always active and his ideas rooted in a deep desire to serve and uplift others.
Peter’s Catholic faith guided every aspect of his life. He had a special devotion to the Divine Mercy message, which he shared generously with others. As the founder of Divine Mercy Media, Peter dedicated himself to spreading the message of God’s mercy and love for all people, especially children, with clarity, warmth, and purpose.
Peter had a remarkable gift for lifting others up. Whether through a quick-witted remark, a heartfelt conversation, or a perfectly timed story, he brought warmth and laughter into every room. His sense of humor was both disarming and comforting, often offering encouragement in the moments people needed it most. Peter’s joy was contagious, and many who knew him remember his ability to make others feel seen, appreciated, and hopeful.
He leaves behind not only his family, but also many dear friends and past clients, many of whom carry memories of his generosity, wisdom, encouragement, and visionary spirit. There are too many stories to mention, but each one reflects a life lived with meaning and mission.
