Stella will be remembered by her parents, Frank and Antonette Zaffarano, her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Matt Badiali; her nieces, Katherine and Amanda Badiali, and her extended family and many friends.
Everyone who knew Stella was touched by her kindness, generosity and vivacity. She was happiest when she was with family and friends and always had time to help a stranger. Her infectious smile always lit up the room.
Born in New York in 1970, Stella was a tough little girl who was always active. She would always stand up for herself and her friends. She graduated from Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, FL in 1987. She then attended college at the University of Florida and was a member of Sigma Kappa. She graduated with a degree in education in 1993.
After relocating to Delray Beach, FL, Stella continued to teach elementary school until she was forced to stop after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She courageously battled the disease for 22 years, all the time never losing that smile, or her tenacious spirit.
Stella loved teaching. She was one of those people who truly discovered what she was meant to do in life. Many of her students kept in touch with her over the years to thank her for being such a positive influence in their lives. This brought her much joy.
Although we will miss Stella every day, we take comfort in knowing that she is free. Her memory will live on with all of us.
In leu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Stella’s memory to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society by clicking the links below.
