When  Tim came to see the car of his dreams it was then that we knew he was the guy to be the next owner of Pops Riv. Boy were we right he restored it to  all its glory and beauty. Tim had taken on this challenge and filled everyones dreams . No other man could have filled Pops shoes like him. Very glad to have met this man, a true car guy. May he rest in peace.

Our family will miss Uncle Tim at holiday celebrations.  No one could ever call them dull with him there.  He came stocked up with a list of stories for every occasion. I first met Tim in the early 70s and we were buddies for many years.  We would hang out every weekend and go clubbing.  Some places were Maxime's on Jerome Ave & Burnside Ave, or in New Rochelle at the 2nd Floor, Marty & Lenny's and Fudgie's, Peachtree's and The Milky Way both on Central Ave, and the Joker's Wild near Pelham Parkway.  We befriended bartenders everywhere and of course met lots of girls to dance with.  Tim loved to dance and for a big guy, he was light on his feet and a good dancer.

In the late 80s we lost touch when I moved to Boca Ration, FL.  Then in 2008 we reconnected after many years when Tim & Maggie bought a condo in Delray Beach, FL.  We've stayed in touch since and would get together each time they vacationed here.  When Tim & Maggie moved to FL full time in 2019, we would see each more often.  I've always felt close to Tim like a brother.  He's been a good and trusted friend.  I miss my buddy very much.  Love you so much, rest in peace my friend.

I met Tim while working in the Woodlawn PostOffice.    During morning break time Tim always had an interesting stories to tell.   He could hold an audience captive with that and his singing.    I remember how Tim got along so well with my cousins at a wedding.   He fit in like family no matter where he went.   However, the happiest I ever saw Tim was on his wedding day.  He made it clear to everyone, he found his soulmate.  Beautiful memories from what seems like a lifetime ago, 

Tim was a kind, funny, and caring person.  The three things Tim talked a lot about when waiting for his students to board the Brinckerhoff bus was, his wife Maggie, his Brinckerhoff bus students, and his car.   When it was time to board the students onto Tim's bus, he would talk to each one as like they were his own kids.  Tim was a wonderful man and all of us miss him very very much.

I’m sorry sorry to hear of the loss of my friend, fellow bus driver and car enthusiast Tim. I always enjoyed seeing him with the Rivera at the  car shows and I especially appreciated when he would send me links and pictures of various 59 Cadillacs he came across on the internet.  I’ll also miss him singing at the various WCSD union parties.  We always had a great time.

When I think about Tim what stands out for me is his warmth.  I remember Tim as a person who enjoyed life and wanted to share the good things in life with others.  I remember when Tim and Maggie were making arrangements for their wedding only the best food and music would do!  Tim wanted everyone to have the best time and for Maggie to be the happiest bride.  The wedding was one of the best I remember, Tim looked so very happy that day.  For Tim happiness came from making people feel comfortable and cared for. Tim will be missed dearly but he leaves a legacy of wonderful memories. 

I always remember Tim with a joke.   He would drive his Mom , Cousin Kay out to visit my Mom.  Very jolly soul, kind person.  Rest In Peace

Tim was always happy and ready for a party!  I loved when he told a joke in an  Irish accent! We all had many fun days at the pool, playing ball and sharing some drinks and snacks !   Tim will be truly missed and never forgotten.

Ann and I met and became friends with Tim & Maggie when they moved to Fishkill, N.Y. Our Bronx up bring bonded us from the start. It was hard to resists  Tim's big smile and happy outgoing attitude. We shared many good times sipping adult beverages (always in moderation of course) and fun conversations. In June 2007 Tim & Maggie invited us to a get together with many of their friends in the Hamptons on Long Island. It's hard to recall a more fun weekend. I must say I always envied Tim's big beautiful Lincolns, they gave our humble neighborhood real class! We will greatly miss Tim and his zest for life. Tim was my best and dearest friend. We've known each other since the first grade. We did many adventures and capers together-driving yellow cabs,camping in the Berkshires,hanging out at Maxim's on Jerome Ave and then up to Frankie Scarsdale's house till daybreak or at Club Imperial,our social club in the the Arthur Ave neighborhood. Too many memories to jot down in this space but two stick out. We once agreed to meet at the 'connecting highway' right over the Triboro bridge in Queens on a friday night in our yellow city cabs. A notorious section for street racing,it attracted crowds from all over the city who would stand at street level 30 feet above the highway and watch the shenanigans down below. When they saw the 2 city cabs pull up to the starting line revving their 'powerful '6 cylinder engines the throng of fans went wild-cheering and clapping hands. I don't remember who won,it didn't matter. We just did it for the goof. We did many things together 'for the goof'. Another time. I was visiting Maggie in the hospital,Tim was there,and Maggie let out a extremely loud sneeze. I said 'maddone' which is Italian slang,roughly translated,as Wow,an act of surprise. I guess it was the timing of it,but we all broke out in laughter and I'm not talking an amusing laugh. This was a lifetime remembering kind of belly laugh that lasted until we were out of breath and then,when we got back our composure,we'd look at each other and it started all over again. A kind of memory that only true friends can share. Tim is forever in my heart and the only guy I can truly say I would take a bullet for. My world has gotten much smaller without him. Rest in peace brother and put in a good word for me💔

My friendship with Tim began at the Woodlawn Post Office back in the '80's.  We became fast friends while working together everyday, trading stories about our families.  I'd tell him about my daughters and he in turn would tell me how much he adred his one and only wonderful son Scott.  It was a pleasure for my wife Gloria and I to be friends with Tim and his true love Maggie. She brought sunshine and happiness into his life and made him a better man.  Going to work each day and having Tim there made a mundane job bearable.  He always had my back and I' ll never forget that. There are many things that will stay with me my whole life.  Being a somewhat serious guy, Tim taught me how to have fun, relax, and enjoy life. We looked forward to stopping at McGinns for a few beers after work to unwind after a long day.  I treasured our time together.  To quote Tim as he was heading out to his route, I will never forget the many times he would turn to all of us and in his booming, melodic voice cry out, "I won't dance, don't ask me."

I met Tim in the 80’s in Woodlawn.  He always had a smile on his face and was cheerful.  I’ll always remember him as the Merry Mailman.  My sincere condolences to you Maggie, Scott and the family.

My fondest memory of Tim was from his wedding to my cousin Maggie. The dance floor was cleared as Tim and Maggie took to the dance floor to a special song. What made it more special was that Tim was singing the song as they danced! He had a very  nice voice! 

Maggie I remember Tim all through my life, we grew up a year apart as cousins.  We would visit him in the Bronx and they would come to long Island to visit us often. Even as a kid he was awesome although shy at times ( mostly when we were at the beach and all my girl friends were there lol ) As he grew older that changed lol ! We always had a special friendship between us although we didn't see each other that much. When they came out we mostly Tim and I spent the days having fun and swimming at the beach. We lived close to the beach so we walked there . One time Tim and his Mom were staying for the weekend at our house and my brother showed up with his friends young teens laughing and acting up. We had a pool and my brother decided to jump off the roof or a tree into it. I ask Timmy to go talk them out of it and the next I knew he was jumping in the pool with them. Yikes, well my Mom came home and was very upset and the next day she ripped the pool down she was afraid someone would get hurt,  Until this day Timmy and I when we saw each other we went on adventures and had lots of fun. He was a great guy and you all captured  him. Tim was generous, loving ,funny. talented, and the best man and friend you could have. He was always there for the people he loved and I am so glad I was one of them, I love and miss you so much. Ted is so happy we hung out a lot these last 8 years . We both love you , Glad I saw you in June but I would do anything for one of your hugs. Missing you........

One year the owner of McGinn's hired a Karaoke guy for Christmas spirit.  Mike, the owner, was trying to get someone, anybody, to start off the night with singing a song or two. No one would be the first, until I decided to sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer to everyone's dismay. Since I was soooo bad and no one wanted me to sing again.....Timmy mustered his courage and got up to sing. I can't remember what song he chose but we were all blown away - the man COULD SING!  And Timmy serenaded us intermittenly all night long with wonderful Christmas songs.  

The thing I remember most about my uncle was how hard he made me laugh. He always had the best jokes -- and if the men in the Roff family like to do anything, it's laugh. There are other things we like to do but no need to go into that here. Anyway, it wasn't just the jokes; it was the way that he told them. He put all of himself into making you part of the story.  It's a gift. He should have been on stage.

It's been a few years since I'd seen him. Our schedules never seemed to coincide since I ran away from home when I was 17 to go to college. I regret I didn't make more time for my family in the years since. I promise them all they didn't miss much. All the important stuff got through because we're Roff's - and we love each other even if it is hard for us to say it most of the time. 

I'll miss you Uncle Tim. Say "hello" to Dad and Grandpa George and Grandma Katherine and Nana and my mother for me. Make sure they know everyone is invited to the wedding.    

Cynthia & I met Tim & Maggie 15 months ago when we moved to Huntington Lakes.  We became instant friends as we both used the same contractor to rehab our condos and complained to each other about  “they never show up on time” syndrome.  

Tim was always smiling, joking and lived life to the fullest.  We could see how much they were both in love, just like newly weds.  We dined together many times and Tim always had stories  to tell us about his postman & bus driver days.  His love of children was evident.  This past summer Tim & Maggie visited us for 4 days at our home on Pelican Island. We kept a bottle of Captain Morgen rum in the guest house for his personal use 😊.  We so enjoyed their visit and were looking forward to future visits.   He was my buddy and I’m missing him already.  Be at peace my friend.

While Malcolm and I only knew Tim for a short time, he did leave a lovely impression.  His terrific smile, his joy at the pool and his love for Maggie.  

While life can take away our loved ones, memories of them are never gone.  I'm sure, Maggie, that you have so many wonderful moments of your life together...I look forward to hearing them!

We met Tim when he became our daughter Hannah's bus driver in 2008.  Tim was always so cheerful and chatty.  Hannah wore a USMC shirt to school one day and Tim commented on it. Hannah's brothers Dan and Joe both went on to become United States Marines.  He told us of his son's Marine Corps service with undying pride!!  After many, always cheerful chats, we became friends.  

When our oldest was about to set out for boot camp it only seemed natural to invite Tim and his now wife Maggie to join us.  They celebrated one of the proudest days our family has known with us.  Our Marine Corps family to the end!!

We stayed in touch with Tim and Maggie through Facebook and were heartbroken to hear of Tim's passing.  A larger than life man with a larger than life heart.  

Maggie, please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.  I can honestly say, our lives are better knowing you both.  God Bless. 

So many happy memories of Tim… I loved hearing him sing karaoke, especially one of his favorites, “Living on a Prayer”… he had a hand in planning all my great parties like my parents anniversary at Rory Dolans and even helping with the limos for my wedding… he was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be greatly missed and forever loved. My deepest condolences to Maggie and Scott. 

Tim became part of my family when he and Maggie met. I believe it was in the River’s Edge, and when Maggie introduced Tim to my mom, she gave Maggie a look of approval, and the rest is history! Mom adored Tim, and she loved Maggie as her own daughter.  We have so many happy memories with Tim over almost 30 years now.  He dressed up as Santa every Christmas Eve, after taking over Maggie’s position.  My kids and nephews have very special memories of this.  We’ve had countless family parties, from Halloween to weddings to special birthdays.  Tim was part of all of these special events.  He and Maggie organized the limos for many of our weddings.  Some of my favorite memories of Tim are when we would spend a week in the Catskills every summer.  Tim would sing on karaoke night.  It was so much fun.  Lastly, Tim would call the resort, and give a fictitious name, and they would announce the name in the dining room over the loud speaker.  The laughter that would ensue from these “phone calls!”  We will miss you, Tim! You lived your life the way we all should live. With laughter and a smile. God bless you, and may you rest in peace. I met Tim through his wife Maggie and immediately knew that they were perfect for each other. Tim was a fun loving, positive guy and I always enjoyed our conversations about traveling and the adventures of life. Tim was always easy to talk to and would always give you the time of day to talk about whatever was on your mind. I remember when Tim and Maggie would come to the Catskills and Tim would perform “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi on karaoke night and completely tear the house down. I also remember seeing Tim out in Woodlawn delivering the mail with a smile on his face. Tim you will be missed, Maggie our hearts and prayers are with you and the family. We love you and share our sincere condolences with you during this time. Tim was one of a kind, and he will always be with you until you two reunite again.

Tim and I worked together as bus drivers for Wappingers Central School District . Tim was kind , outgoing, always had a smile and a Big Heart! Loved to sing , great voice! Tim was very special to me . For the past 10 years,  when coming in for his haircut ,  Tim was always joking and happy When it came to the mustache we always ending busting out laughing have to stop regroup and give a few more try’s .  We had grown to care and talk so much about  our lives . He has given me so much advice and for that I thank him admire him . The way he spoke of Maggie and the love he has for her was so touching . I will truly miss him  but he will forever be in my heart .

Dear Maggie:  My heart is broken.  An old friend from Walton Avenue told me this news and it has taken me some time to write to you.  Timmy and I grew up on Walton Avenue together and went to the same grammar school.  He used to walk with me home from school when I was younger.  He was three years older than I.  When my family moved to a larger apartment across the street Timmy could practically see into my parents' room from his bedroom.  I knew the family, his parents and his older brother, Jack.  We hung out together for years during our teens and I kept up with his doings through the years with a mutual neighbor and, then later, through Ron Bolte, a guy from Walton Avenue with whom I still communicate.  We were good friends and knew each other for many years.  He was a great guy and the thing I remember most is Timmy sitting out on his bedroom windowsill with his legs dangling and his boombox blasting music from the 60s.  He knew that it scared me and I always thought he would fall.  It became quite a joke between us.  I have great memories of him.  It is because of him that "Help Me Rhonda" became my favorite Beach Boys song.  Everytime I hear it, I think of him.  I am so sorry now that I never got in touch with him as I know you lived near me in Dutchess County for a few years.  I am not surprised at all by all of the condolence notes saying he was a great guy.  He was!  You both were very blessed to have found each other and had such happiness.  Please accept my heartfelt condolences.  My husband died sixteen years ago and I know how your heart is broken.  I pray for you that your wonderful memories can ease your grief.  Please also send my condolences to Scott, his son and to Jack, his older brother.  I remember Jack from the old neighborhood as well.  Please tell Jack I still keep in touch with Ron Bolte (if he remembers him) and that Ron was the one who gave me this sad news.  God bless you all.

We are all so saddened to have heard about Tim’s passing. This time of year, it was such a pleasure waking up so early to see Tim's bus driving down our road, fully decorated for the holiday! And of course, he went all out the last day of school before Christmas break! Always put a huge smile on our faces! He will be greatly missed by all of us ‘up on the mountain’ 

Tim was a great guy who was always laughing. What I remember most about Tim, is that he was our neighborhood mailman during a simpler time. When people stopped to chat and your mailman knew you. When I was very little, barely writing, I went to sleep away camp. I missed my mom terribly and wrote her constantly. I still have these post cards as my mom saved them. They were addressed to “Mom” 239 BX NY and only that. Tim being the great guy, figured out which mom those post cards belonged to. We laughed about it as I grew into adulthood and I’m grateful to have those precious postcards from my childhood. Any other mailman would not have taken the time to solve the “Mom” mystery.  Thanks again, Tim. Rest In Peace. 

Tim was one of the kindest, human beings I ever met.  He had a wonderful way about him that made people feel comfortable around him.  Tim was a great storyteller!  Whenever we were at our community pool, I would love to hear about his days as a fantastic bus driver, He would go out of his way to make all the children on his bus route feel special, celebrating holidays and children's birthdays with wonderful surprises.  Tim always had a kind word to say to me.  Always friendly and optimistic he had the ability to make your day even better. I have wonderful memories of growing up together. Our families were together for many occasions. His Dad, George and my Mom, Winnie were brother and sister. Deb and I were saddened to hear of Tim’s passing. We always enjoyed our get togethers and sometimes impromptu meetings with Maggie and Tim. Tim had a very warm personality. We loved his story’s (especially the Bronx) and the way he would laugh. He was a caring person and a true patriot. Rest In Peace Tim! 

My husband Paul and I met Tim, Maggie, his brother and sister-in-law on a repositioning cruise some years back.  We had a wonderful experience  sharing stories, meals, pool time, lots of laughter and relaxation together.  Tim's love for Maggie was beyond perfect, a most beautiful love story!  He sang in the talent show and of course, we attended to cheer him on.  The minute he began, our jaws dropped, hearing that most beautiful voice!  My hands were hurting from clapping and my voice raspy from yelling and cheering!!  He was an amazing man, funny, full of love, and extremely talented.  Then just a few years ago we ran into them at Schooner's in Jupiter.  What a shock!  We live in Fort Myers but were visiting Paul's sister in Tequesta.  It was so great to see them again.  Maggie, please accept our deepest sympathy which also extends to the rest of the family.  Our world was a much better place because of him.


Tim was a great,lovable gentle giant. I enjoyed many happy times with Maggie and Tim.  My favorite were our days in Ireland on the pub crawls.  Rest easy dear Tim 

We have so many wonderful memories over the years but what comes to mind first of Tim is at the Farm!  Him sitting with Jim Taubner on the bench on the playground and Maddy and I constantly screaming TIMMY JIMMY lol they both scream back at us WHATTTTTT. The Kulaga Family have so many wonderful memories of our bus driver turned friend! Tim always made someone's day a little brighter. He would often drive his car up our hill through the neighborhood in the summer just to catch a glimpse of "his kids."  He decorated the bus for holidays but especially during Christmas. There would be garland, lights, and ornaments through out the bus. On the last day , before holiday break, each child got to choose an ornament to keep. We still hang ours proudly every year. We always knew Tim was like no other but that was confirmed on my middle sons first day of K. Brayden was hysterically crying amd instead of Tim ignoring him. He turned the bus around and brought Brayden back for another hug from his mom. The world will be a little less special without Mr. Tim! 

Where do I begin? I write this with a heavy heart. Tim was the greatest bus driver and person I knew.  I will always remember how he made every child feel special on the bus, especially mine. Whether it was their birthday, rider of the week, or just celebrating the holidays with the kids. Always doing something special for each and every one of them. I am forever grateful for the extra early morning pickups, Reed loved to sit and chat with him before school. I will always be filled with gratitude to not only have you as Reed's bus driver but to have you and Maggie as my  friend. Rest in peace Big Tim,  XOXO 

So thankful Tina and I had some time with Tim and Maggie. We met Tim and Maggie on a cruise. Quickly learned Tim was a great time and big hearted man. Plus great stories! Tim will be missed. We will celebrate our memories and send our best to Maggie.

My memories of Tim come through my friendship with his incredible wife Maggie. Maggie and I worked together for many years and she became a trusted special friend to me. Both Maggie and Tim alike made themselves available to anybody in need, and I was one of those people years ago when I hit a low spot. Maggie and Tim were there for me, putting a smile on my face and comforting me. Tim was always happy, smiling. He was a wonderful man and was totally in love with his Maggie.  I will always remember how he was there for me and my son. You will be missed Tim, rest peacefully my friend.
