company of his adoring wife.
Vinny was born in Brooklyn to first generation Italian immigrant parents, whose culture
and love of family he carried with him through his life. Growing up in Brooklyn was a childhood
that Vinny treasured, regularly reminiscing about waking up before sunrise to make donuts for
his father’s bakery, playing fullback on Lafayette High School’s football team, and countless
other stories of friends who he cherished, and maintained a close relationship with through his
81 years.
Upon graduating from Lafayette in 1961, Vinny continued his education and football
career at Dodge City College in Kansas. Post college, Vinny returned home to marry the love
of his life, Carol Albano in 1965. The following year he joined the New York Police Department
where he saved many lives both on and off duty.
Above all, Vinny loved his family. His wife of 60 years was the center of his world. He
wanted her by his side every minute of every day. This love extended to his children and
grandchildren who were a never ending source of joy. He never missed a holiday or
celebration, and took pride in the hours of cooking that inevitably went along with them.
Vinny’s sense of humor was always present. He had a magnetic, and at times larger
than life personality that drew everyone he met in and made them a friend for life.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Senisi, his children, Vincent (Darlene) Senisi of Boca
Raton, FL and Kristin (Joe) Whelan of Newtown, CT. He is also survived by his grandchildren,
Joey, Kris, Vincent, Dominic, and Alexandria. He is predeceased by his parents Nunzio Senisi
and Carmela Senisi, his brother Daniel Senisi, and his sister Marita Simeone.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 10, at St. Joan of
Arc Catholic Church, 370 SW 3rd St, Boca Raton, FL.
