Charles was born on May 27, 1945 in Cumberland Co., NC, son of the late Neil and Lettie Elmore.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elmore; two sons, Charles Elmore, Jr. (Peanut) and Jimmy Ray Elmore.
Charles was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Cape Fear Baptist Church, Shallotte Moose Lodge 710 and an honorary member of the VFW. His passion was fishing.
Charles is survived by his wife, Sharon Elmore; children: Mellissa Elmore and her partner, Lora Howell, Bryan and Terrie Streeter; Grandchildren, Jessica Ramirez, Michael Pamplin, Jr.,Ashley Pamplin and Shane Pamplin; 3 sisters, Mary Scholer, Deborah McArthur and Ruby Curtis; 8 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at 6pm on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church, 883 Holden Beach Rd, Shallotte, NC 28470.
The family will receive friends before and after the service at their home.
