Claire Edith Treptau Flachbart

Claire was born March 15, 1932, in Westchester County, NJ, a daughter of the late Kurt and Olga Lind Treptau.

She met the love of her life Charles, while they were roller skating at the age of sixteen. While Charlie was in the United States Air Force stationed in England, Claire boarded the Queen Mary to join him in marriage in Margate, England. They lived there for three years of their 64 year marriage. Preceding her in death was her husband Charles, a grandson, Wade Charles Hileman and a sister Mildred.

Living to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas and Jean Flachbart of Sierra Vista, AZ, Gaye and Brad Moyer of Scottsdale, AZ, Jill and Gary Leach of Bolivia, NC and Jaya and Jan Fairchild of Los Angeles, CA. Siblings, Connie Pyne, Frances Treptau, Roberta Treptau; grandchildren, Dustin and Patti Tilford, Melanie and Craig Fertelmes, Sara Tilford, Brian and Brittni Tilford, Nathan and Brody Flachbart; six great grandchildren, Brayden Tilford, Juliet Tilford, Hayden Fertelmes and Baby Boy Fertelmes, Dean Tilford and Hanna Tilford.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Luke Lutheran Church with reception to follow.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude, that monetary donations be made in her name to the SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice “Brunswick House” at 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 29422.
