

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 15 at 11:30 am at White Funeral & Cremation Service with the Rev. Amos Sykes officiating.
He is survived by his spouse, Barbara Sykes of the home; one daughter, Bobbie Johnson of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC and her husband Butch and two children, Rowan and Lucas; one son, Bryan Sykes of Belmont, NC; and two sisters, Jeanette Clay of Beverly Hills, FL and Betty Sykes of Raleigh, NC.
Jack enjoyed, among many things, gardening, cheering on his Washington Redskins and playing bluegrass music. He was an avid banjo and guitar player. He enjoyed boating and fishing and celebrating with family and friends over fish fries and fish stews. He adored his wife of 53 years and will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
The family will receive family and friends at White Funeral & Cremation on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 am.
