

Gayle was born in Southport on October 17, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora Flowers Rabon. She married Richard Sullivan on November 2, 1962. She attended Bolivia High School and graduated in 1963.
She was a devoted caregiver to her disabled husband and to many others in the community. She was a dedicated member of Peace Memorial Baptist Church. Gayle was a loving mother and grandmother, special friend to many, and a stranger to no one.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Sullivan, grandson Jonathan Lewis, and siblings, James Roy Rabon, Elsie Manning, Emma Louise Major, Lillian Watkins, Daniel Rabon, Wilber Rabon, Carter Rabon, Landis Rabon, Frankie Rabon, and Elizabeth Mercer.
She is survived by two daughters, Towanna Neal of Leland, Kimberly Lewis and husband Tommy of Leland; two grandchildren, Tiffany Lewis Scheib and husband Austin of Bolivia, Ashley Neal Greenleaf and husband Michael of Virginia; six great grandchildren, Emmaleigh Payton Lewis, Reed Scheib, Landon Scheib, Olivia Greenleaf, Anastyn Greenleaf, and Madison Greenleaf; and two sisters, Cheryl Mintz of Leland and Tonda Henry of Boiling Spring Lakes.
The family will have visitation at Peace Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 9:00 am followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am with Pastor Jerry “Bo” Wilkins officiating. Special words by granddaughter, Tiffany Scheib. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Mintz, Hunter Mintz, Scott Rabon, Freddie Watkins, William Watkins, Jereme Willetts, Charles Henry, and Jerry Rabon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Morry Watkins, David Watkins, Burwin Mercer, Gary Rabon, Tom Rabon Sr., Wayne Rabon, Rick Major, Bill Rabon, Jim Rabon, and Andy Illobre.
