

Jason was born in Moore Co., N.C. on October 5, 1987 and was the son of Janice Collins of Fayetteville and the late William Wilson Freeman. He was a police officer with the Southport Police Department and previously served with the Ocean Isle Beach Police Department. Jason was an avid fisherman. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and son.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife Ashley H. Freeman of the home; three children, Isabella and Ian Freeman of the home and Brooklin Freeman of St. Pauls; three brothers, Bryan Locklear of Fayetteville, Matthew Freeman of Longs, S.C., James Freeman of Carthage, N.C.; a sister, Crystal Meagan Freeman of Raeford, N.C.; grandfather, Bill Hunt of Wilmington; his father and mother-in-law, Mark and Cathy Hornberger of Supply; a sister-in-law, Amber Hornberger; his law enforcement partner and best friend, Brandon Gray.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 15, 2017 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Southport Baptist Church with Reverend Rudy Ramphal officiating.
Interment services with law enforcement honors will follow in the Cape Fear Memorial Park in Southport.
