Jasper Tatum (J.T.) Lee, 84, of Holden Beach, NC, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011. Mr. Lee was born in Dillon County, SC, the son of the late D.J. Lee and Bessie Price Lee and is also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Nell Barber Lee, five children; Mary Anne Lee of North Port, FL, Irene L. Huggins, Larry Lee, Alan Lee, and Wendell P. Lee all of Hamer, SC, three step children; Jeannette Humphrey, David Atkinson, Ann Lee, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
J.T. graduated from Dillon High School, and attended Clemson University. He was a veteran of the U.S. military, and a retired rural mail carrier. He loved to farm, and was a former director of the Farm Bureau in Dillon County. Wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, J.T. will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered. The family has requested donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
A memorial service was held 2:00 PM, Monday, April 25, 2011 at Gospel Center Baptist Church, Supply, NC. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Evergreen Perpetual Cemetery, Hamer, SC.
