

Mr. Caton was born in New Hanover County on September 25, 1945 and was the son of the late Jackson Mercer Caton Sr. and Althea Willetts Caton. He was also predeceased by his previous wife, Carolyn Caton. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Bolivia. Mack attended Bolivia High School and later received his G.E.D. He later graduated from Fruitland Bible College. He pastored churches in Spencer, West Virginia, Richlands, NC and Fairmont, NC. In his early years he was an avid sports fan, loving baseball and NASCAR fan pulling for Fireball Roberts. He loved his family dearly and most of all he loved his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda W. Caton; step-children, Sherah Geter of the home and Seth Geter of Wilmington; three siblings, J.M. Caton Jr. of Bolivia, Annette Kye of Winnabow, Darlene Fox of Richmond, VA.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 14, 2015 at 11am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Reverend Anthony Clemmons and Reverend V.C. Potter Jr. Officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and John Bowling. Honorary pallbearers will be, Billy Caton, Jimmy Caton, Paul Caton, Johnny Hardie.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2919 Galloway Rd., Bolivia and other times at the residence.
