

She was born August 13, 1928 in Columbus County, NC and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Vara Hester Powers. Tommie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. "Pete" Thompson, Sr. She retired from Rock Hill Tile Company which she and her late husband owned for over 50 years. Tommie was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC and attended Gospel Center Baptist Church in Supply, NC when she moved from Lake Wylie, SC to Supply, NC in 2011. She was a fun lady and some referred to her as the "Pontoon Queen" because of her love of the water.
Survivors include her three children, Edward L. "Pete" Thompson, Jr. (Frances) of Greenville, SC, daughters, Lynne Thompson Bohlen and companion (Hans Forster) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Denise Thompson of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Hobie Bohlen, Ed Thompson, III, Thomas Thompson and Logan Sanders; great-grandchildren, Ward Thompson, Charlotte Thompson, and Makayla Bohlen.
In addition to her parents and late husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Gwen Baker.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Grandview Memorial Park (Cherry Road) Rock Hill, SC with the Rev. Eddie Ramsey from Oakland Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Thompson would like to give special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Coastal Pointe Memory Care for all the love and care that was shown to their mother.
