Odom Barden McLelland

Mr. McLelland was born in Lumberton, NC on March 17, 1939 and was the son of the late Odom Wilson McLelland and Lela McDowell McLelland. He graduated from Bolivia High School where he played baseball, football and basketball. Barden loved the outdoors where he spent many days enjoying hunting, fishing and God's creation. He retired from G.E. Aviation Division in Wilmington after 25 years of employment. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette Willetts McLelland, of the home; two children, Cynthia Lee Meyer and husband Roger of Wilmington and Freddy McLelland of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Savannah Corey and husband Alex, Cole McLelland, Perry McLelland and Autumnlee Meyer; a great grandson, Spencer Nichols; a sister Lyndia Jo Swineford and husband Michael of Chesterfield, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday March 2, 2024 at two o'clock in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service Bolivia Chapel, 603 Ocean Highway East, Bolivia, NC.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be directed to the North Carolina Wildlife at www.ncwildlife.org.
