Patricia Oliver Deal

morning of February 18, 2017 in her place she loved the most, her beach house on Holden Beach.

Pat was born in Loris, SC on March 16, 1941 to the late Sam and Ruby Whittington Oliver. She

was a loving wife, mother, and dear friend, and known as Moo Moo to those who knew her best. Her

greatest joys in her life were her family, the beach, antiquing, and the Arts. She graduated from

Winthrop College in 1962, earning a BS in Elementary Education. Pat will be remembered for her kind

and caring nature, her passionate spirit, and her genuine smile.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Samuel Broughton Deal of Callison, SC, engineer for

40 years in the development of colored television at RCA in Lancaster, PA, and US Army Retired Lt.

Colonel; two daughters, Ann Coggiola of Charleston, SC, Catherine “Kay” Smith and her husband Mike,

of Leesville, SC; a son, Samuel Oliver Deal and his wife Melissa of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren,

Catherine “Katie” Oliver Smith of Leesville, SC, and Jetton “Jett” Samuel Deal of Montgomery, TX;

siblings Betty O. Welborn of Loris, SC and David F. Oliver of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her beloved nieces

and nephews; and her precious dog, Zorro.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017, 4:00pm at 1219 Ocean

Blvd West, Holden Beach, NC. At 5:00pm, family and friends will meet on the beach for a service.
