

Thomas was born in New Hanover County, NC, on February 13, 1942, and was the son of the late Elwood Oliver Sullivan and Omage Lula Johnson Sullivan.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife (1962-2005), Alice Fay Sullivan, brother, Curtis Sullivan, sister, Barbara Sullivan Caudill, and daughter-in-law, Doris Sullivan.
He is survived by his wife (2008-present) Diane Sullivan of Elizabethtown; a son, Thomas “Tommy” Sullivan Jr. (Cindy) of Leland; three daughters, Connie Fairfax (Doug) of Leland, Penny Sullivan (Tim) of Fries, Virginia, Pam Caudill of Leland; nine grandchildren, Mark Fairfax, Tammy Jordan (Keven), Scott Caudill Jr. (Summer), Holly DeVane (Bryan), Monica Blake (Scott), Bradley DeVane (Taylor) Michael Ivey, Amanda Hamilton (Ricky), Cindy Ivey; 17 Great-Grandchildren; step-daughter, Crystal Miller; step-grandson, Chance Miller; one sister-in-law; Patricia Louise Goff of Ivanhoe, NC.
He was a member of Peace Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years; the last several years Thomas was considered a charter member. He worked for Armstrong, B&W Boiler Plant, D.R. and, prior to retirement, Lanier & Son as a motor grader operator. He enjoyed working in his shop on different projects. He loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter with Puters Neck hunting club for 55 years in Winnabow NC.
Thomas loved his Lord and Savior, his family and his friends. He was a devoted father, husband, and Papa. He loved his family and spending time with them more than anything in this world. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Peace Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Fairfax officiating. Burial will follow in Peace Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Mark Fairfax, Scott Caudill Jr., Michael Ivey, Bryan Owens, Nathaniel Fairfax and Tim Sowers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Spencer Lanier, William Cumbee, RL Sullivan, William Willetts, HL Rich, Hybert DeVane, Elmer Farmer and David Mintz.
The family will receive guest an hour prior to the service at Peace Memorial Baptist Church and other times from daughter, Connie Fairfax residence, Town Creek Rd, Leland, NC.
