.Walter “Dutchy” Franklin Spencer, 84, of Bolivia, NC, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011. Dutchy was the son of the late Dover and Lena Spencer. He is also preceded by his loving wife Thelma. Mr. Spencer is survived by his two sons; Steve Spencer and wife Leann, Walter Spencer, Three daughters; Teresa McCall (Wayne), Vicky Webb (Lonnie), and Iris Spencer, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Dutchy was a veteran of WWII. He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. His terrific sense of humor was enjoyed by all. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Dutchy will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered always.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, October 7, 2011, at Coble Ward-Smith, Supply Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2011, also at the Supply Chapel. Interment will follow at The Brown Cemetery, Bolivia, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
