Willie Lee Spradlin

Willie “Bill” Lee Spradlin, 79, of Supply, NC, passed away August 27, 2013 at S.E.C.U Hospice. Bill was the son of the late Asa and Mary Spradlin. He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Henderson. He is survived by his loving wife, confidant, and friend of 58 years, Mrs. Joyce A. Spradlin, son, Gregg Spradlin, (wife Margaret), of Fayetteville, NC, daughter, Janna L. Dyck, (husband Samuel), of Everett, WA, sisters; Irma Gamble, Joann Brown both of Hogansville, GA, and Peggy Brickhouse of FL, Grandchildren; Jeremy Dyck, Aleena Spradlin, Cassie Porcella, Gennifer Davis, Trissy Watkins, Christy Lynch, Brianna Spradlin, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill retired a Commander after 30 years of service in the U. S. Navy. He then became a graduate of Northwest College of the Assemblies of God in Kirkland WA. He was a member of MOAA, Wilmington, NC, VFW, American Legion, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hogansville, GA. He was also a proud member of Sharon UMC, Supply, NC, where he served as pastor to seniors. His loving, caring and giving heart will always be remembered in all the lives that he has touched. He will be greatly missed, and always lovingly remembered. Memorial contributions may be made to Rev. Willie “Bill” Spradlin Memorial Scholarship Fund, Sharon UMC, or Lower Cape Fear Hospice. The family would like to express their thanks for the loving care provided by the staff at S.E.C.U Hospice and for the faithful and loving support of the pastor and congregation at Sharon UMC.

The family received friends 12:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, August 31, 2013. Funeral services were at 2:00 PM, Sharon UMC. Interment followed at Sharon UMC Cemetery with full military honors.
