Adoracion L. Lapid

Adoracion Laure Lapid was born on October 19, 1932 to Paciano Laure and Dominica Castuli in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Philippines. She was the oldest of seven children and was followed by her five sisters and one brother: Corazon Laure Garcia, Delia Laure, Edilberto Laure, Carmencita Handog, Flordeliza Coro and Erlinda Coro.

Adoracion married Maximo S. Lapid on February 17, 1973 in City Court, Branch 1, Cavite City, Philippines. They had six children together, Wilfredo, Orvelita, Nenita, Daisy, Eliseo and Ruel.

She was a homemaker that enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching soap operas on The Filipino Channel and catching up with relatives in the Philippines by telephone. She took pride in having raised all of her children and sending them off to college. She also worked hard at saving her money to build a modest home of her very own in Noveleta, Philippines.

Adoracion passed away quietly in her sleep on March 20, 2012 in San Diego, California as a result of heart failure related to complications of cancer. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Maximo Lapid, her children, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfredo and Nersa Lapid, Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto and Orvelita Sasis, Ms. Nenita Lapid Trinidad, Ms. Daisy Laure Lapid, Mr. and Mrs. Eliseo and Gladys Lapid. Her grandchildren, Eileen Perea Lapid, Ernie Lapid Sasis, Donn Adrian Lapid, Denette Ann Lapid Sasis, Kristen Mae Lapid Trinidad, Kaila Trinidad and Liana Mae Lapid. Her sisters, Corazon Laure Garcia, Delia Laure, Flordeliza Coro and Erlinda Coro.

A mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel. Her remains will be laid to rest shortly thereafter at Himlayang Caviteño Memorial Park in Cavite City, Philippines.
