Aida was born on February 13, 1939, in Carot, Anda, Pangasinan, Philippines, to the late Julian Chan and Dominica Chan. As the eldest of six siblings, she embraced a lifelong role of responsibility and compassion—qualities that shaped her character and guided her family.
She completed her education as a secretarial commerce graduate in 1958, laying the foundation for a life marked by diligence and service. Aida devoted 30 years of her professional life as a trilingual teacher’s aide, where she touched countless young lives through her dedication and care. Her ability to communicate across languages reflected not only her skill, but her deep concern for people from all walks of life.
A woman of steadfast faith, Aida was a founding member of the San Diego Fil-Am Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her love for God was evident in her daily walk, her devotion to her church family, and her example of Christian service. She lived her faith consistently and generously, trusting in God through every season of life.
Aida was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Antonio Corpuz, who passed away in 2001.
She leaves behind her three devoted children:
• Sheila Mae Corpuz Garcia, married to Jimmy Garcia
• Jan Anthony Corpuz, married to Liza Guinto Corpuz
• Nyda Hope Corpuz Pamintuan, married to Alan Pamintuan
She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Jonathan Antonio Pamintuan (24), Jared Alan Pamintuan (20), Stanton Daniel Garcia (20), Jenna Nicole Garcia (18), Jordyn Alyssa Pamintuan (18), and Jasmine Aliyah Pamintuan (18).
Aida will be remembered for her strength, her firm faith, and her commitment to her family and church community. While we mourn her passing, we hold to the blessed hope of the resurrection and the promise of reunion in Christ.
