My sincere condolences to the De Alba family and friends ... today I learned that Alfredo passed away 2 years ago. Our families met many years ago at the new Garza Blanca.  I knew Alfredo as a smiling, fun, sincere. athletic teenager. He became a close friend to my father Marvin Pensak in Puerto Vallarta and in California.

 my husband and I with our contacts in  dentistry helped him make contacts and he was accepted and he did very well. We first met Alfredo in Puerto Vallarta Mexico, 
 his father was manager of a boutique hotel, where we all stayed often and we became fast friends. He was such a good friend.
He took care of my grandson's orthodontic care who lived in the San Diego area. We visited his  first office that he had  in Bonita California.
 I am so saddened of his passing. I miss you Alfredo. I love you.

My Angel,

We planned a wedding last October but due to someone stopping any financial support to us that month, we had to cancel.  Alfredo desperately wanted to marry and I too after spending 23 years together in spite of his illness.  It's the one thing I regret in life that I didn't push, he wanted to call me "his wife" but settled on "Momma."  I picked up his ashes today and they will have a forever place on my mantle.  I'm moving forward with my precious memories of you that God blessed me with, NO one can take away from me, all the toxicity that was shown by people is finally over for me. You will rest in peace with me in our home until I'm with you again my love.  I LOVE YOU SWEET BOY.

Thank you for all the love we shared for 23 years.  All I care about in my life going forward is you and your embrace and how much you loved me and I loved you.  I was lucky enough to find the "love of my life" in you and that love will carry me through until we can be together again.  We would kiss every night and every morning and you would sing to me, "when I dream, I dream of you."  There will never be another love in my life, "you were the one." Por fin pude verte hace un año,  marzo 2022 , apenaa habias cumplido 72 años, me reconociste de inmediato,  disfrutamos una tarde que yo no sabia era la última de poder compartir un momento contigo...porque ya en éste año 2023   te vi y tu mente estaba  tristememente en otra dimension.  

Disfrutaste tu fiesta de cumpleaños  num 69 increible, con tu hermana Leonor,  Lety y yo...muy apapachado.. muy felíz

Siempre te recordaré con  esa alegria que solo tu podias compartir

Doc I can’t believe you’re gone. I will cherish all the great memories I had with you. I worked for Dr. De Alba for 17 years. He taught me Ortho. We always referred to him as Doc. Doc always had nicknames for all of his employees. Mine was Merlot. He told me years ago why he came up with that name but till this day I can’t remember the reasoning. My great memory with Doc was that he always took us to the PCSO’s & AAO’s for example Monterey Ca., Hawaii, San Francisco and many times to Palm Springs. My other memory of him was him teaching me not to be forgetful.  He would always  say to me Merlot don’t forget write it down! I still do to this day. Thanks Doc & may you rest in peace!🙏❤️🙏

My dear friend, what a good time we had!  We played tennis for decades at the Bonita Valley Tennis Club.  I remember when we teamed up and came in second in our age group in a San Diego District tournament. We were NOT BAD!

We travelled to Puerto Vallarta and points south. You were generous enough to send Mary and me to Ocho Cascadas for our honeymoon. Cannot thank you enough for that.

We spent a lot of time together over good meals and friendly drinks.  I will not forget you my friend! You will be missed.

te recuerdo siempre alegre, con un gran sentido del humor, viviendo la vida con gran alegría y pasión. Mi padre siempre orgulloso de ti, nos comentaba sobre tus grandes logros profesionales y personales.
Seguramente en este momento tú y mi padre están juntos, compartiendo esa alegría y buen humor que los caracterizó.

Alfie… you were the best! I truely enjoyed being your amigo… from skiing the Hobacks at Telluride to every single one of our crazy escapades including Furstmans classes, lemon cokes in Angie’s lab and all the antics at the PCSO annual sessions for 50 years!
 To  Susan and his family, I am so damn sorry for your loss. Alfredo packed 144 years in his 72, and I was fortunate enough to have  participated in a lot of it…Tom REED Bales  Novato CA

Alfredo was my clinical instructor at UCLA 1981-1983 and was exceptional.

My experience at UCLA those two years was the highlight of anything I had ever experienced up til then. Alfredo and other exceptional instructors  were  a very big part of that.

As a result of Alfredo’s (and others) teachings and the education afforded by Alfredo and his team, I have had an opportunity to live my dreams in private practice in Pacific Palisades, CA.

Every day patient in our community, and patients from the greater LA community and throughout the USA and abroad, visit and benefit from the expertise and education given to me by Alfredo and his team. 

Thank you Alfredo. All my dreams came true, and you were a beginning part of that.

Alfredo made this for me, I treasured this pic from our many visits to Puerto Vallarta.  

Dr. DeAlba was a kind and fun loving colleague. He welcomed me with open arms when I started my practice upstairs from him. He gave me good advice and guided me when we had difficult cases. He threw a Cinco de Mayo party in the courtyard and there may be a picture of us dancing somewhere. He will be missed by our staff and our patients.

I knew Alfredo professionally for about 30 years. He always wore a smile and would easily give orthodontic advise regarding difficult cases. I know he had many patients whose life have been improved due to his kindness and wonderful orthodontic services.  He will be missed. Rick Mowry DMD
