Ann F. Walton was a modest woman, quiet and observant in her ways. She was trustworthy and traditional in her approach to her life and in her relationships earning the respect of all who knew her. She was also a woman who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything she undertook. Realistic about life, she was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility.
She was the daughter of Charles A. and Ann F. Howell. Ann grew up in Orangeburg, South Carolina and raised with four siblings. She had one brother, Charles A. Howell, and three sisters, Louisa Dawson, Nell Elliott and Cherry Arant. Ann and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Ann had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1943 and went on to attend Orangeburg Nursing School.
Ann was blessed with three children, two sons, Robert Walton and Richard Walton, and one daughter Paula Ann Walton. Ann worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs.
Fortunately, Ann enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ann worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. She was Property and Finance Manager for Sunview Properties of Bonita for 30 years. Ann always sought to do what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Ann passed away on December 13, 2010 in Chula Vista, California due to heart failure. She is survived by her children, Robert, Paula and Richard, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services were held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita, California. Ann was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
