

Aurelia (known as Ely to her friends and family) was born in Tuao, Cagayan, Philippines as the fourth of seven children. She grew up during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines and often told stories of how she would get candy from the Japanese soldiers. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing choosing a career in service to the sick as a Registered Nurse.
In 1968, she, her husband and two small children in tow moved from the Philippines to Chicago, Illinois where they lived and worked until it was time to retire in sunny Chula Vista, California. She enjoyed tending to her orchids, exercising with her Mall Walking Club, winning (sometimes) at Mahjong and at the Casinos, and a good 75% off sale at the Mall.
She was predeceased by her husband Pedro, and survived by her sister Carolina, son Tito, daughter Celia, granddaughter Salena, and great grandson Davis.
Arrangements: Wake on Tuesday, Sep 24, 2024 at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bonita, California from 5 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be at 12 Noon on Sep 25, 2024 at Little Chapel of the Roses in the Glen Abbey Memorial Park Cemetery.
