Philippines. She is the 3rd child of Fermin and Isidra Bayot. She had 5 brothers,
Gaudencio (deceased), Sotero (deceased), Herminio, Gaudioso (deceased),
Gelasio (deceased), Fermin Jr. (deceased) and 3 sisters Virginia, Juliana and
Teodora.
She completed 6th grade at Maitim 1st Elementary School. Afterward, she helped
her family with work on the farm. During her younger years, she was active in
sports, particularly softball, where she played as a pitcher. The reason why, she
loved to watch baseball. Her favorite team was the San Diego Padres.
On October 12, 1962, she married Gabriel Cesicar, at the age of 21, at Amadeo
Catholic Church in Amadeo, Cavite. They were blessed with 6 children: Luisiano
(deceased), Maria Luisa, Mary Jane(deceased), Roberto, Magdalena, and
Maribeth. She had 9 grandchildren:
She and her husband, Gabriel, worked side by side to provide for their family
through farming. Together, they transformed their rice field into a thriving farm of
pineapples, papayas, and bananas, allowing for regular harvests. They also
maintained a coffee farm in Magallanes, Cavite, which included 3,000 coffee
trees planted by Gabriel himself, along with another coffee field they inherited
from their parents. Through their dedication and hard work, they were able to
give their children a good education. She continued farming until they migrated
to San Diego on October 22, 2004. There, she worked as a caregiver for 15
years.
She was kind, loving, and generous—not just with her family, but with everyone
around her. A true people person, she had a warm and friendly presence that
made others feel comfortable around her. Her sense of humor and playful spirit
made her the kind of person everyone enjoyed being around—funny,
approachable, and full of life. She was selfless, always thinking of others before
herself. Even in times of illness, she remained sweet, kind, appreciative, and
warm. Nurses and caregivers appreciated how kind and gracious she was as a
patient— smiling through pain, gently caressing their hands, and even kissing
them as a gesture of gratitude and affection.
Even while she was sick, music remained a source of comfort and joy. She
loved to sing Please Release Me (Let Me Go) by Engelbert Humperdinck, I Love
You Baby, My Way, Put Your Head on My Shoulder by Frank Sinatra, and Kahit
Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko by Sharon Cuneta. Before her body began to weaken,
she lovingly sang the Barney song “I Love You,” a simple yet heartfelt
expression of the affection she had for her family.
