Cecilia Laygo Ledesma

Cecilia Laygo Ledesma, age 83, of San Diego, California passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Cecilia was born November 2, 1938, in Tarlac City, Central Luzon, Philippines, the eldest daughter of Ricardo and Celedonia Ledesma. In her early life she attended the University of the East where she achieved an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She worked at a Bank for a short period before holding a long term position as a secretary for a business firm & construction company in Manila, Philippines. In the early 1960’s she married Rodolfo R. Picatoste and moved to the United States where she raised her two children. Cecilia proudly held a Bachelor's Degree in Business, was a clerk at the University of San Diego and caregiver for over 20 years. She was a devout Roman Catholic, and on March 28, 2013 she was appointed as Extraordinary Eucharist Minister serving the St. Mary’s Parish community. She earned a certificate for participating in the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion workshop conducted by the Diocese of San Diego Office for Liturgy and Spirituality on December 5, 2018. In 2019 she made a personal sacrifice for Our Lady earning a Certificate of Honor as a Tech Pioneer. She is survived by her son, Ryan Stephen Ledesma Picatoste, her daughter, Ryna Nicole Ledesma, her grandson, Edric Nino Picatoste (son of Ryan), her four siblings - her brother, Avelino Ledesma, his wife Ophelia and their 2 children; her brother Ernesto Ledesma, his wife Florentina and their 3 children; her sister, Elenita Ledesma and her brother Rueben Ledesma, his wife Violeta and their 4 children to include a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and an abundance of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo R. Picatoste, and her parents, Ricardo and Celedondia Ledesma.

First (1st) evening visitation for Cecilia will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the second (2nd) evening visitation will occur Monday, December 6, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A Blessing Prayer and Rosary Vigil will begin at 5:00 PM on both visitation days (12/5 + 12/6). A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at St Mary's Catholic Church, 426 E 7th St, National City, CA 91950. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902 followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Little Lodge, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
