Cecilia Cruz Nueve

Cecilia Cruz Nueve, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at UERM Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines after a beautifully lived life. She was born November 22, 1928 in Mandaluyong City, Philippines to her mother, Felixberta Reyes Victorino, and father, Agapito Cruz. She later married the love of her life, Pastor Lejano Nueve, on December 27, 1954 in Manila, Philippines and was blessed with two daughters. Cecilia and Pastor had been happily married together for 48 years before Pastor's passing on Tuesday, July 8, 2003.

Cecilia graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Doctor of Medicine degree. She kept herself busy working as a doctor at Makati Health Department while concurrently practicing at her own clinic in Mandaluyong, Philippines after her hours at the hospital. Alongside her active career as a doctor, Cecilia also ran a local pharmacy where her two daughters would help. In the little off time she had, Cecilia loved to clean making sure her house was always in immaculate condition. Food and cooking was another of her passions, routinely distributing extra food to relatives and friends making sure everyone was well-fed. Later in life, she would often buy over a hundred McDonald's meals and distribute them to local Church members after Sunday Mass in the Philippines. She loved helping family, friends, and strangers in anyway she could.

Cecilia is survived by her two daughters, Maria Lourdes (Roberto) Virola and Maria Bella (Benn Alan) Flores; her two granddaughters, Christine (Michael) Lane and Catherine Virola; her only grandson, Michael Anthony Flores; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitations for Cecilia will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 and Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A graveside service will follow nearby at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM.
