It was in 1979 when Lolo Cesar, Lola Mary and family migrated to the US. Mama will share with us how thoughtful and generous Lolo and Lola that although they left the Philippines, they would send gifts to relatives especially during occasions such as birthdays and Christmas. We are grateful for their thoughtfulness and generous hearts. I remember the classic red beetle (Volkswagen) that Papa drove when I was little. It was one of the memories we have from them. It safely took us from one place to another. Mama had constant communication with Lolo and Lola. By God’s grace,  Mama is able to come here and reunited with Lolo and Lola after 44 years. Nothing really is impossible with God. Such a touching and joyous reunion with Lolo, Lola and family in San Diego. We are thankful that Mama and I were able to spent time with them. On one beautiful day while visiting them, Lolo Cesar began sharing his experience when he was working in the Philippines. Being a lawyer and special agent at a government bureau, was quite challenging and risky yet a fulfilling profession especially when he shared success in their operation. I recognize and admire his dedication and honest service. He is noble, brave and had so much integrity. You truly are a man of God. 

Thank you Lolo for the words of wisdom and invaluable lesson you shared with us. Thank God for sharing your life with us and for being kind, generous, humble and loving husband to Lola and father to your sons and grandfather to your grandkids and great grandkids. 

Rest well in eternal peace Lolo, in the loving arms of our Father God in heaven. Our continued prayers of comfort for Lola Mary and the entire family. Lolo Cesar, we love you.  You will be forever in our hearts.🙏

Grandma and Grandpa came to all my events when I was growing up. Piano recitals, soccer games, birthday parties, graduations etc. They rooted for me from beginning to end. I love and miss you so much grandpa. Thank you for always keeping me close to the family and to your heart.

We’re sorry for your loss and we hope you can find comfort in the memory of Cesar’s great spirit and of your loving bond.

Cesar and Mary were our travelling companions since 2007 when we met them during our China tour. Since then we visited local sites like Balboa Park as our favorite and watched the Nutcracker at the Civic Theatre. Together we joined a tour of Sedona, Branson, French Canada as well as the Reagan and Nixon Presidential Libraries in California, the Getty’s Museum and the Huntington Gardens. We enjoyed each other’s company, food, plants and their friendship.  They were friends in good times as well as during difficult times.

my great-grandpa was one of the most loving, caring, honest, and kind person i’ve ever met in my life. he deserved the world, he’s a great man and i’m grateful he was a part of my life and that i have memories with him because he helped me appreciate things more, i remember when he used to give me and my cousins mcdonalds when we would sleep over and all the memories. his speeches at the family gatherings, the prayers, everything. i hope you’re resting well grandpa, thank u for everything and we miss and love u so much 🕊️.

Thank you for all the McDonald’s happy meals growing up, the rides after school and all the commuting you did for all of your grandkids, the ice cream in a cone you would always offer us at the house, the gum pack you would always have in your pocket for all of us to split a piece,  for your witty jokes and wise words, for always looking out for your kids, your grandkids and even your great grandchildren. I am so thankful my own daughters got to experience your love. You never failed to make us and others feel special to you.  could never repay you for everything you and grandma have done for us and this family. I love and miss you so much Grandpa!!!!

My grandpa was a very special man. He would do anything and everything for his grandchildren. I would always remember him picking me up in elementary school waiting for me by the pillars to make sure me and my cousin Kyle were safe. Through middle school and high school he would pick us up with grandma in the OG green van. Each time he picked us up it was followed by McDonalds or Jack in the Box. He made sure to always feed us and make us happy. At times, he even gave my friends rides and bought them food which they all remembered him as well. Grandpa made everyone feel included and I will miss him dearly. Love you so much grandpa! Mia will know you as being “great” for being her great grandpa <3

My memories are always of my grandpa leading the prayer to bless the food then making a speech /sharing his words of wisdom before we eat. I remember after about 10 minutes we would all look at each other because our stomachs were already growling (haha) but I would do anything to hear him speak one last time!
He almost always named everyone in the room at each gathering and also remembered thanked all the men and women in uniform for serving our country. And ended it with his famous line, “God helps those who help themselves, diabetics first!”
