

Christine “Chris” Elaine Spencer, second daughter of Milton and Betty Bentley, was born on July 18th, 1947, in Los Angeles, California. She passed away peacefully in La Mesa, California on February 25th, 2026, at the age of 78.
Chris graduated from Gardena High School and Los Angeles Harbor College, where she received her nursing degree. She was a devoted nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others. Her nursing career spanned over 40 years, caring for a wide variety of patients, from general internal medicine, general surgery, to cardiac ICU.
Chris was a true-blue Dodger fan, an avid reader, partial to Stephen King novels, and lover of the outdoors. She also enjoyed traveling, which included a solo cross country road trip, a trip to New Zealand, The Bahamas, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida, Las Vegas, Arizona, and multiple trips to her beloved Burney Falls.
In her retirement, she focused on spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as her dogs and cats.
Christine is survived by her husband Kevin, her sister Laurie, her children – Dan, Robin and Melissa. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren – Sabrina, Nicole, Matthew, Alexis, Lucas, Kayla, and Amaya, as well as six great grandchildren – Samuel, Danny, Levi, Luna, Nova, and Kyro.
Christine will always be remembered as a strong woman with a big heart. Her life was a demonstration of the power of selfless service to others, and the impact a person can have on their lives. Her legacy will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have learned from her, worked with her, loved her, and counted on her as a friend.
