David M. Walden

It’s hard to put into words a man who meant so much, created our millions of memories, and

love that is unmeasurable. ❤️

We mournfully say good bye to a man who created a beautiful legacy. Born and raised in San

Diego, he graduated from Mission Bay High and SDSU. He met and married his beautiful bride

Carol Marker (also SD native), and just celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary.

He was an Athlete!

He was an outstanding Baseball Player, loved Basketball, and was an Original Over-the-Line

player. He served our country in the US Army, and was devoted to and supported his children

and grandchildren in all their endeavors.

A quiet man with a quick wit.

A true family man. His door was always open, literally.

He is survived by his wife Carol Walden, daughters Krissy Payton and Karen Carpadakis (Jon). He

was Bapa/ Boppa to DJ, Tyler and Nicolas Payton, Steven, Jordan, Jaydon , and Justin

Carpadakis. And was Great Grandpa to Aaron Payton. He is also survived by his sister Jan

Collymore and niece Angie Slovak. Celebrating four generations of his beloved family. He was

so proud of each and every one of them.

Dave was a teacher to many students (Southwest High and Jr High Schools). A coach to many

athletes, and a friend to all that met him.

He is preceded in Heaven by his parents, Milford and Eloise Walden and son-in-law Rodney

Payton.

He will be forever loved, and forever missed. We U
