

Diana was born October 9, 1980 in Dallas, Texas. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School (Dallas, Tx) and graduated from Barbara Manns High School (Dallas, Tx) where she was selected as Valedictorian of her senior class. After graduation, Diana proudly served her country in the United States Navy from 1999-2003 and was stationed at Naval Training Center Great Lakes, IL; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Far East Detachment Diego Garcia; and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station San Diego, CA. While serving in the Navy she gave birth to her daughter, Gabriela Deanna Pena, and met her husband to be, Ismael Yanez.
After leaving the Navy, Diana worked as an administrative/executive assistant. During this time Diana attended Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California where she graduated with a degree in Accounting. Diana went on to work as a bookkeeper and accountant in the San Diego area.
Diana was an avid reader, loved watching movies and enjoyed traveling. She loved spending time with her family and her two beloved dogs, Gibbs and Ziva, who she treated as her babies.
Diana is survived by her husband of 14 years, Ismael Yanez, her daughter Gabriela, by her parents Candido and Shannon Pena, and her sister Amy Pena. Diana will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
A Hawaiian luau style celebration of Diana's life will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park Little Lodge, 3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita, CA 91902 at a later date. Military honors will be presented to her family.
